Attendees at 41st Year Reunion

41 years later

On Aug. 12, 2000, about 80 people showed up at the OST "Secret Park" off Ventura Avenue for the 41-year reunion. Surrounded by a portion of the "King Kong" wall and a giant "tree limb" from the film, we renewed acquaintances, caught up on the past year and enjoyed a hearty meal of tri-tip, chicken and all the fixings. For those of you who never heard the story, the OST cranes were used during the filming of "King Kong" so they got a couple of large souvenirs for the park. Several people at the reunion wanted another one in another year. To register your opinion, check out the home page and send an e-mail to Barbara Gallinger Gates (and, no, despite Del's great story, that bridge-like object over the park is not from "Bridge on the River Kwai"). Here are some pictures from the reunion:

  Pretty truck

Sorry, I didn't get the name
of the owner, but this could
be from our senior year

Classmates look at old pictures

Everyone's taking pictures

Two photographers, with backs to camera, take pictures, as do I. It's hard to be sure, but those being photographed are, from left (I think), Nancy Kull, Sandra Peterson Jensen, Bill Young(?), Claudia Gilbert, Nancy Sigmon Gleinke and Sharon Pax Scholtz.

Here's the food

Unfortunately, you can't see, smell or taste the food being served here, but it was great.
